WELCOME to my website.

I am a published author who facilitates writing workshops — most recently for residents at a treatment centre for addiction in East Vancouver. I’ve also served as fiction mentor for Simon Fraser University’s The Writer’s Studio Online, and taught writing workshops in the continuing studies program at the University of British Columbia and at Langara. To reach me  please see the Contact & Photos page.

My third book is actually “our” book, a collaborative work of non-fiction with my husband Tony Wanless. Four Umbrellas: A Couple’s Journey into Young-Onset Alzheimer’s has been published in paper and e-format by Dundurn Press and in audio by Tantor Media of the U.S. in a joint release Oct. 17, 2020.

My second novel Two-Gun & Sun is inspired by Morris Two-Gun Cohen and Sun Yat-sen, and is narrated by a frontier newspaperwoman whose world is upended by these two.

My debut novel Underground is about a Canadian’s search for identity as he journeys from the battlefields of the Somme to the Spanish Civil War.

Please see the Publications page for more information.

For further author details, see About June, where I tell you a little bit about myself.

I hope you will return to the News & Events page for ongoing news, photos, comments, and appearances.
